Windows 7: Canon CanoScan N 650U

Hello for all.



I need help because I can't find the driver for this Canon scaner CanoScan N 650U. All I can do it was to download the Driver for Win XP. Did sommebody know if it is possible to make it work like in the webcam case.

Sorry there are no drivers available for that model after XP
Out of 8 scanners I only managed to get it to work on 1 so it may be worth a try.

If you are running the 64bit 7 that's certainly out of the question while on some occasions the XP drivers may work on the 32bit 7 there. Mostly however you would need at least a Vista update in order to the older model there work.

With the "image unavailable" displayed at the product/support page I have to suspect it was discontinued some time back while still seeing some support. Support - CanoScan N650U - Canon USA Consumer Products

That's what you need VueScan Scanning Software for Windows 7, Mac OS X (Snow Leopard) and Linux I have the same scanner from Jurassic Times and this software makes it work on Windows 7 64 bit. Sure it's not free...

First off bogdantalpa hasn't specified which flavor of 7 he is running there. Even with the 32bit 7 the support site shows a lack of any Vista updates showing what is available was written primary for 2000, XP, and the older Legacy versions of Windows.

Due to rapid change of model lines and problems with older hardwares, devices with each new version of Windows seen you are likely better off considering going with a newer model that does see Vista, 7 updates right off. The alternative would be finding a different very similar model that does see updates or trying out some generic drivers in the hopes that one of those will work.
