    Advent 5302 sound drivers

I just paid £190 for windows 7 and it looks like the biggest mistake in my life.
It seems the audio drivers on windows 7 for the advent 5302 dont exist. The drivers windows uses crackles even though windows thinks its working fine. I've never had to ask for help before and this is driving me crazy, i dont think i will sleep till its fixed :-(
Please can anyone find a solution,
    Vista drivers do not work
    I cannot find a solution anywhere .

when you tried the vista drivers did you install them in compatibility mode ? Compatibility Mode the vista drivers should work very well in win 7 , if you have any probs post back

From what I can see on the specs of the advent 5302, your lappy uses the Realtek HD audio drivers, but if it's possible for you to fill in your system spec in full we might be able to steer you in the right direction a bit quicker.
But here's a link in the mean time ...... Realtek Win7 32/64bit HD Audio Drivers

    Hope this helps a bit

Peebly i had tried to install with compatabilty mode they still wont work.
Pooman i had tried the drivers before and they install but the same problem still exists.
I will retry both the above but im sure i will get the same results.
My soundcard is the Realtek High Definiton audio. I've tried the advent drivers for Vista and the Realtek drivers from the link i had them already, I'll combine the 2 solutions see if that help. I know i'm not alone with this problem but still no one has a solution. The only real solution is to put xp back on but i really dont want too.

No it doesn't work. I'm thinking about getting a usb soundcard for the time been, even with speakers it will only cost £15. I think i will have to wait until the drivers are released. If they ever do that is.

I know it seems that the drivers are for windows 7 but they sound even worse than the drivers windows finds for the device. I'm not giving up just yet, i really am searching everywhere but the only things that come up are on this site, I know i am not alone with this problem. I'm guessing everyone else just went back to Vista or XP.

Sorry to hear that you are still struggling ... but I would agree with your external sound card solution, it's a much better choice than changing OS.

Just a thought, but have you tried updating your Mb BIOS ?

i will check the bios version now.
it shouldnt really make a difference, i just think the proper drivers dont exist and microsoft or realtek dont even need to care :-(.
