    intel wddm 1.1 driver problem

i have a brand new acer aspire 4736z laptop which i have been using for about 2 months. i seriously get a lot of problems with it and one of which is the display. i am really conscious on how my system works especially its speed. and so far, i am not satisfied to my system right now.

the problem goes with the display driver. i have an oem version of windows 7 starter which is bundled with my laptop. i have used it for a couple of weeks but got no satisfaction because it really lacks a lot of features. then i decided to upgrade to home premium thru the windows anytime upgrade. it's well and good than before! though home premium was such an eye candy, there were lots of display problems with it.

he windows built in games such as 3d chess flickers for a while on its first use then displays a message "driver intel graphics accelerator for windows vista stopped responding and has successfully recovered". the message goes as well on my first use with the windows media player during dvd playback. after my initial use, those incidents did not repeat all over again. and after a week, i decided to play plants vs. zombies on my lappy. the game flickers everytime i open it and displays the same message. so i decided just to update my display driver thru windows updates. the driver intel wddm 1.1 was replaced by intel 4 chipset family. well, the problem with plant vs. zombies was now gone. but after a few days, i notice a few instances of slow down with my pc including hang ups which i never encountered before. i really want to breakdown at that point in my life.

again, i used the previous driver wddm 1.1 and everything got back to normal. no slow down i guess. but there are a few instances where i get driver problems which extended to my browsing activities. and one night, while i was browsing, the computer shut down suddenly. after that instance, i get flickering screen often as well as a blinking taskbar.

please help me. i've done everything i could. i also used the latest drivers from intel but still the problem persists.

    thanks in advance.

Welcome to Windows Seven: Try uninstalling your WDDM1.1 drivers then go to Acer site choose which version of seven 32 or 64 bit you've installed and install the reinstall the chipset drivers, their only avalible in Vista so you'll need to use compatibility mode. Right clckk o the seup.exe file>properties>compatiblility choose vista and check the box run in compatiblility mode, install as administarator. Once you've done this re-install the WDDM1.1 drivers and lets see if their is a difference. Acer Support - Download Drivers Thanks. Fabe

Thanks for the reply. I have tried this option already. Everything was already done for my lappy but still nothing works. I already reformatted this pc many times so I can't find any reason for this problem not to be fixed. I am now planning to go to a nearby Acer service center and checkout the real problem of this laptop.

I have a question. Does Acer or the shop where I have bought my laptop has the liability on this problem? I bought this pc together with a windows 7 starter oem. the shop says that the os is a part of the promo and is bundled with the lappy. we know that when an oem software is given to the end user, the pc accompanied with it on purchase should also have a driver for that said software. in that case, my pc has no drivers for 7 on its resource dvd, only for xp and vista. so whenever i encounter such problems, i am having a hard time to fix it. i could not even maximize the use of my laptop because the backup key and the power smart key has specific drivers w/c are not included as well.

i would also like to ask what things can i demand from them? i really can't take this problem anymore.

ejma, i can understand your frustration ,Acer and Microsoft are not solely responsible for the probs you have ,if the device manufacturers do not write new drivers for your devices the only thing you can do is use the latest drivers available and run them in compatibility mode ,have you had a look on intels website to see if you can get the chipset driver off them? :)

yes i know what you're pointing out. but all i was saying is that, acer gave to me the laptop with windows 7 oem software but without the appropriate drivers for it. i mean, they're making some tricks on me. the laptop is windows xp and vista prepared for it has drivers with it but no 7 drivers. and yet, they gave to me a widnwos 7 oem software? i hope u understand my problem.
