Windows 7: Brothers MFC-420CN

Brothers MFC-420CN

Brother doesn't support this model anymore for Win 7, and my MFL-Pro software doesn't install because it's not compatible with Win 7. I'm now using the driver that came with Windows 7.

Windows 7 recognizes my MFC-420CN printer/scanner/fax. I can print OK. But Windows 7 "Fax and Scan" program doesn't recognize the document feeder of the scanner. It only has "flatbed" option and I'd have to scan page by page. This gets really time consuming when I have a large quantity of papers to scan. Can anyone help? How can I make Windows 7 recognize my document feeder?

As an alternative, does anyone know if the MFL-Pro software for another model might be compatible with my printer? Is there a MFL-Pro software that is compatible with Win 7 I can use?

Thanks much.

Hi Pebbly,

Thanks for the suggestion. I did see an "upgrade" for the MFL-Pro software for Vista. But my problem is I'm not able to install the original program so even though the "upgrade" can be downloaded, I have no way to install it (must have the original program installed first).

Any other suggstion?

Thanks.

I don't quite follow you here Esquire2010 , the first driver on the list is the "full driver and software package", in the detailed install instructions it tells you to "uninstall the previous drivers " . This is not an upgrade package
