My touchpad drivers are up to date (downloaded from Windows Update this morning).

And, I've already tried getting a driver from the HP webpage; their updates recognize that I'm not running Vista and therefore refuse to proceed with the installation.

Ok, so try installing in compatibility mode for Vista by right clicking the install file, choose properties then compatibility tab.

Running in compatibility mode let me run the install, so thanks for that The actual support page for my computer is Select software and drivers

Still cant find a way to make touch work though
