need help fixing this "unknown device" pictures added

    Hmm, you may need to download the motherboard drivers from the site (as opposed to Autodetect) and run them with compatability for Vista. This will work and Windows Update may even give options to update once the Vista driver is running.

    Might be worth a try

    okay well i should have thought about this before. So inserted my driver disc :)

    If you download the driver it's normally an exe file, you can right-click the file and in the 'Compatability' tab you can choose Vista/Vista SP1/Vista SP2. When you click ok you can then run the file & it will install the drivers as if it was for Vista. See how that works if your driver CD don't and let us know :)

    The device driver you need to look for is an ITECIR Infrared Receiver (ITE8708). Try the Asus website.
