CxVCap, Video Capture Driver compatibility problem

hi everyone. i had this problem

The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue.
  • Windows needs to be restarted so necessary changes to system files can be made before continuing.

  • For these items, make the following changes:
  • Uninstall these programs. Open Control Panel and search for "uninstall a program".
    • CxVCap, Video Capture Driver

while trying to upgrade windows7 with new version. i saw on net that some people have the same problem, but no solution.
well the problem was in my tv card (or it can be with some other capture device).
i solved it by manually deleting sys files from system32/drivers that are related to my tv card. in my case it was cxavsvid.sys (with mouse over you can see file description) and after that it worked!
it seems so simple but after hours and hours searching for solution and trying everything, uninstalling drivers, apps, cleaning drivers, finnally i tried this and it worked.
i hope that this thread will be helpful to someone. cheers

If you are using Leadtek TV2000 XP Expert, DV2000, DTV1000 T, DTV2000 H, try this driver:

Here is the answer:

Here is the post:
The correct URL is
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv-17741-2&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=392513&os=228&lang=en
This is not to say that the above procedures don't work, but I did the following:
  1. Download and run the Spring 2004 Original TV Tuner Driver Collection (sp24012.exe)
  2. Open Device Manager
  3. Uninstall bad Conexant drivers highlighted by the yellow triangle with exclamation mark. Click Delete to remove the driver
  4. Disconnect from the internet
  5. In Device Manager, click Action > Scan for hardware changes (if you do not disconnect from the internet, a balloon will appear informing you that drivers are being updated from the internet. Click the balloon, right click in the window that opens, and click to cancel update.)
  6. Follow the instructions to install the drivers from C:\hp\drivers\TVTuner
Windows Media Center should recognize your TV tuner.
