Windows 7: PCI Simple Communication Controller dead

I have an HP dc7700 that we are upgrading to Windows 7 and have a PCI controller error. The hardware ID is: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2994&SUBSYS_2802103C&REV_02. Can't get any help from HP, hope you can help me out. Where do I get a driver for this, whatever it is?

It's your HECI driver that's missing. try downloading the vista driver here. It should work for windows 7 as well. If it doesn't install try compatibility mode

hi stendog welcome to the forums, here is a link to the drivers you require HP Compaq dc7700 Convertible Minitower PC*-* Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center download the 2 chipset drivers they are for vista so install them in compatibility mode Compatibility Mode

Didnt work im afraid. tried all different combinations. Not worth tweaking with compatibility mode etc as wasted more time and effort.

spent ages looking around he net and HP to no avail. Was a quick and easy download which saved me time looking for the dc7700 drivers! Also had HP dc7100 and HP d510 drivers download for windows 7 upgrades. Works a charm.
