Hibernation Messed Up My ASUS Notebook
I just put my ASUS UL80VT notebook (Windows 7 64 bit) into hibernation for the first time but when I tried to bring it out I got an error message saying that there was a problem with the hibernation file and it was unable to recover properly. It did load eventually but when it did I found that my screen resolution had been set to 800x600 and limited to 1024x768 - checking the hardware status it says that there is a problem with the display adapters (Device Status: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)). USB 2.0 has also been affected and the options for 'Sleep' and 'Hibernation' have been grayed out from the shut down menu. It might just be my imagination but, to cap things off, I think the system in general is running slower than it used to.
I tried downloading and re-installing the VGA drivers from the ASUS support site but it has absolutely no effect.
Not really sure what else to do at this point, any suggestions would be appreciated.
