This is to say thank you. Your posted solution to fix ScanSnap S510 Driver worked for me too on Windows 7 fresh install.

Hey, sorry everyone,
I don't mean to hijack this thread, it's just that there seem to be very few places where you can ask questions about this product.
I am thinking of buying this scanner and wanted to ask about the ScanSnap Organizer software....does the folder list within the application reflect the true folder structure of the computer? What I mean is, if I made a new folder in the application called invoices, would a new invoices folder really be created on my computer within the Scans folder? I am asking because the "Distribute by Keyword" feature sounds very useful, but only if it actually moves the pdf file around, not just within the application's own database.
Thanks, and sorry for posting somethings o irrelevant to the rest of the thread!
Yes, the folder structure will be create on your computer and reflect the true folder structure of the computer.
This is a great little scanner for filing documents.
Furball,
Even though all of us hate Fujitsu customer support, and all of us do, I don't believe that there is a person here that would tell you that this was a bad scanner. It's an incredibly fast duplex color scanner. It makes excellent copies, and doesn't usually bind or stick pages together, so you can put a whole stack of papers in the feeder. It scans receipts easily and I've never had a single issue with mine, other than software installation issues, which were fixed reading this thread. I would buy the scanner again, tomorrow. You won't be disappointed.

... one great scanner I agree but the driver issue is a pain but I blame Microsoft more then the vendors ... they are ALWAYS bleeding all vendors for more money to 'certify' the drivers.
OK, no idea ...but here goes. the office machine, i did a clean install of Winows 7 ultimate 32 bit, installed the fujitsu software and was forced to use the repair feature as cited above. it works.
this past weekend did an upgrade install from vista 64 business to Win 7 ultimate 64 (which worked flawlassly)... during the install, what I'd not realized was that i'd left the ScanSnap S1500 plugged in to the USB port and turned on. well, nice surprise, at the end of the Win 7 upgrade installation, the scanner just works.
Thanks so much for all the replies, which have really helped.
I now know what to get myself for christmas )
We are a loyal ScanSnap office. Have 5 of them. Three old ones, an S510 and a 1500. We accidentally found that the 1500 software fixes them all to work with Vista. Recently found that downloading the 1500 fix for Windows 7 takes care of the S510 on Windows 7. It appears to now be working fine.
Anyone have any luck with the OCR settings in the SnapScan Manager?? This was working for me nder Vista 64bit but now on Windows 7 64bit the entire section for OCR is greyed out
