    info & help needed

Hi! Can i use "LSI HDA modem driver" to update "Agere systems HDA modem driver"? It seems Agere systems was merged to LSI.

Another situation, JMB38x memory card reader device disappeared from device manager. When i disabled the card reader power saving in BIOS, it reappeared. If power saving setting is reverted, it will not be included in the list of devices (under memory tech devices). Can anyone help me out with this ?

Before the above situation happen, i updated graphics, memory card reader, audio, ENE Consumer IR drivers (to solve my BSOD problem). At that time, memory card device is included in the list(even after driver update). Update went fine. I noticed it's missing when i tried to double check the updates, the next day i turn on the laptop.

got a HP laptop, OS- windows vista changed to Win7 home premium 64-bit

    thank you for any info/assitance.

If you are getting a BSOD and it shows RAM as the issue I would run Memtest at least 5 cycles to verify RAM is not a problem.

PcPitStop lists your latest driver for that modem as 2.1.92.0 Driver Date: 11/21/2008

Hi nat, did these drivers come out before or after the companies merged? If before, then its most likely not going to work . But if you do decide to try it. Make sure you back up the drivers. Most drivers are made for that specific device.

LSI HDA modem driver <==> that modem
Agere systems HDA modem driver <==> that modem

    got the point?

    i hope this helped

PS: if you need help getting the driver. PM me and ill give you a program that will help you find that driver + more.
