That is by design, IMO Creative forced Daniel K to strip out all the sound apps. This is typical for Creative driver support which is next to non existant.

About the only way to find that driver complete with apps is to look around for the torrent. I found one for my older Audigy 2ZS and all the apps work perfectly.

Your guess may be as good as mine. This is just a download link for the torrent, there is no telling if the torrent is being hosted or not or if these drivers will work as advertised. Site says these are modded X-Fi drivers for Audigy SE with working EQ and other stuff.

I, too, have an Audigy SE card. Creative has become a beast IMHO.

The card allows sound to my PC, but that's about it.

I've resorted to using Winamp to play MP3 files. WMP wants to cling to everything you run on it for the first time.

Back to Audigy - as mentioned before, nothing works - EAX, CMSS etc. - get error flags all the time. Have continually tried Creative's updates (that's another joke).

I used to have SBLive; Xfi Music Extreme; and finally this cheap-o Audigy from Wal-Mart ($30). The reason I GOT IT, was because Xfi did not have the feature "What-U-Hear" (or allow for it). So I was told to simply get a cheap Audigy at Wal-Mart and you will get back W-U-H. Come to find out, there are a couple or so versions of AudigySE, and guess what? One doesn't come with W-U-H. (mine)

What's wrong with these people at Creative, anyway?

Let's move on: Does anyone know of a new, excellent soundcard, that does not rely (behind the scenes) on Creative technology? Please let me know.

BTW - SoundBlasterLive5.0 (series) were the best cards Creative ever came out with. After that, things just got stupider and worse. Cuz they started catering to the NOISE & GAME freaks, instead of REAL MUSIC. IMHO. Also, Xfi was just too bloated and hard to figure out (reverb and other tweaks etc.) To me, anyway.

    Thanks,

    Chipper

Better known and supposedly decent brands other than Creative would be:

    Asus
    Turtle Beach
    HT-Omega
    M-Audio
    Auzentech

But I've never used any of them and have lived with onboard sound or Creative. Maybe time for a change.

There are also a number of external USB sound cards from several manufacturers. Never tried one.

EAX .etc won't work these are known by Creative but no idea will they even release an update .. I'm also waiting for it as if now DanielK's is the only driver that work well as far as my knowledge. Maybe its a trick from them so we will buy a new card

Any word about new Audigy SE drivers ? - Creative Labs
