Anyone else with a HP 6910p?

need help with the Mass Storage device. cannot seem to get any of the drivers from HP to work. Also have a unknown device. Went down the entire list. Only those two things would not install.

Well I decided to try a different way. Re-installed my image of XP on my 6910p then upgrade to windows 7. Wrong idea. Would not boot then it did but blue screened then finally got through to the desktop only to have it lock up so much I could not even find out what was wrong. So still looking for some help with the Mass Storage Driver and whatever the unknown is. I believe its part of the chipset, maybe something to do with the sound but not sure. Anyone know what the scope is of driver issues and what time frame we can expect them to be resolved? When is MS planning on wanting to realease this thing?

I finally took Windows 7 off. It is just the card reader which I don't use that much anyway however I had some very strange issues with a certain web site "ask.com", when my son downloaded DIVX player that installed the search bar. Windows 7 acted like there was a virus on the machine and would not let IE open at all and firefox even crashed. I think this has a LONG way to go before its even close to being ready for the public. To think that this is supposed to merge the best of Xp and Vista together? Vista, which I use on another 6910p I have worked flawlessly though I am still looking for s sutable p2p protection for Vista that I have not found yet. PeerGuardian works some of the time but I often have to task manager it and restart it many times to get it up and running. Not that I use Limewire or torrents that much if at all, I actually believe in buying stuff, however I do like to use the "Full" versions of things to make sure its what I need. But I also use it just because I hate prying eyes. Well such is the life ofa tech. I think I will stick with Vista and XP for now. Hell, we just got through getting software to work good with Vista and there are still issues with that, and they want to come out with another OS? Why not just stick with ONE and make it better through Sp's.

    HP 6910p Driver

I have the same system. Intel has the storage driver it is called Intel Storage Matrix Driver Get it at Intel.com. The unknown driver is the AMT driver that you can get at HP.com. Downloads and support. I had no problem setting up Windows7 Ultimate or Pro on the HP 6910p Mobile Laptop. Kicks Butt on some and most Desktops. Good luck. Any problems contact me at Dan686DG@netscape.net
