    Dear mickey megabyte
I tried to install VAIO® Launcher Software
in compatibility-mode, but it didn't install.
You said "try running it in one of the vista modes", but my windows is seven and I run
compatibility for seven mode. but it didn't work.
    What must I do now?
I hope my question be clear now.

    Thanks a lot.

    ok nima,

i know that you have windows 7. sometimes if you have problems with software, you can use the compatibility modes to make the program 'think' it is running on a vista (or xp) machine. you do this by right-clicking and going to the compatibility tab and selecting 'vista sp1', for example.

or you can try right-clicking and use 'troubleshoot compatabilty' - sometimes it makes the program run ok.

sometimes running 'as administrator' works too.

if you have tried all of these, then i'm sorry, i do not what else will help.

    good luck.

The Windows 7 version of the software is probably the exact same thing as the Vista version of the software, with maybe a couple extra bells and whistles. In that (very likely) case, the program looks for Windows Vista. Running in compatibility mode for Vista makes it think your PC has Vista just long enough to get it installed. The link Theog provides has a good tutorial on compatibility mode.
