    Well it still aint reading dvd's

    I found a firm ware update here LG Product Support

    will try that now....

    Nope the firmware update didnt help,it can read Cd's but it still cant read dvd's

    Wouldn't happen to have another computer you can test the drive in do you? It is beginning to sound like it could be on the way out.

    Nope i havent tried it on another computer....

    i have a bigger problem now, i ran the FIX IT tool coz some guy told me.... it finshed its job and stated that the dvd in unreadable.... what ever..... shockingly my dvdrw is gone again i checked in device manager, it aint there too........ the power wont go on too, i mean no light glow on it, neither does it open

    Really beginning to sound like the drive is dying. Can you see it in the bios still or is it gone from there as well? If it can't be seen in the bios, then it is time for a new drive.

    I unplugged it from the power cords and put back.... and she live she live

    But she still wont read dvd's

    Now this is how it looks..... its stuck like that and wont respond...

    could this be some reg error??

    Coz it worked perfectly fine for two years untill a few days back this started.....

    Have you installed latest bios update? Send email message to gigabyte staff - see what they say!

    As a last gasp, try deleting 'PCI bus' driver in "device manager" - Reboot!

    This will force windows to reinstall majority of your M/board drivers. Only let updates download off microsoft internet site - not from your motherboard CD!
