    Aspire 6920 microphone drivers

I have just put Windows 7 on my Acer Aspire 6920 but the microphone does not work, buth the built in one and when I attach one via the input slot. I have tried to download the driver from the Acer website but an error comes up and the process stops. I believe that the driver is for Vista anyway. Can anyone help?

strange, can you open up device manager and look for "unknown devices" and give us a snippet using the snipping tool, that would be very helpful, i am also starting to wonder if you have the pci and chipset drivers installed?

    A fix to this problem

I too have an Acer Aspire 6920. I just worked my way through this problem, but found little help on the internet. To recap, what occured was after downloading windows 7 on my Acer Aspire 6920, my built-in microphone no longer worked. Eventhough when I went into the control panel/hardware and sound/sound/recordings tab in the mircophone properties it said "This device is working properly.". It wasn't. Unfortunately there was no driver available on the Acer website to quickly resolve this problem. But, here's the fix. Go to the Realtek website link below:
    Realtek
Select the version of windows you are running(I was running Windows 7 home preimum x32), so I selected the first driver "32bits Vista, Windows7, Windows8 Driver only (Executable file)", "Version R2.70" for US3. This new version of Realtek resolved my microphone functionality problems. I hope this helps you too.
