Shell Folder Fix Stops Working After A Few Hours...

I have ShellFolderFix installed on three different Windows 7 Ultimate systems, two 64-bit, one 32-bit. Everything works exactly as advertised when ShellFolderFix is first started. But, after a few hours, it stops working. Its still running and still showing in the tray, but it doesn't do anything. I can open the config screen from the tray and change parameters but it does not reposition Explorer windows any more. I kill it with the Taskmgr and then restart it, and poof, all of the Explorer windows pop into their correct postions and things work correctly for a few more hours.

I really like the fact that ShellFolderFix works, but its a real pain to have to keep restarting it all of the time.

Oh, Mr Developer, can you come up with a fix for this problem?

    Thanks!

I have a request. Would it be possible to set a fixed position/dimensions for all explorer windows and just stick to this? Just a single position for all the newly opened windows.

What I mean is that Windows is cascading the windows for example.

I can get you mine if you like the Windows 7 new tray icons style. You can replace the default one by using ResHacker on the .exe for example.

Thanks a lot, but I resolved it with ResHacker too. I tried it before but I was using the 32bit version thus it didn't work. But with the 64bit one it's all ok. Thanks again

Taskbar Folder Preview Reversal on Reboot

First off, this is a life saver. THANKS!

For some reason recently, when I reboot, although all folders are where they were before, if I slide over the folders icon in the task bar, the previews began to be consistently left-right reversed in order. This did not used to happen.

does windows 8 fix this problem?

This fix has been a lifesaver for me. I am eternally grateful for it.

I am curious if Windows 8 'fixed' this ridiculous oversight on their part?

Not getting much use out of this.

Opening a folder in new window will retain its settings, but navigating between folders uses the settings of the previous folder.

"When navigating to a new location" is set to "Update Window"

    Am I missing something?
