if you are still using rainmeter, you gotta go into the text (.ini) file where your weather skin is located and enter your state/city/country id (only 1, just whichever you use to search for your local weather) somwehere within the first few lines it'll show something with local id, which you can copy from the URL from weather.com

If you or anyone wants to learn more in depth on how to customize or create your own things here's the manual.

Rainmeter v1.3 - Which ini file to edit?

I don't install files to my OS partition (if I get the choice).
I want to configure Rainmeter v1.3 to control Winamp.

Which ini file do I need to edit to make Winamp work in Rainmeter?
    Do I edit winamp.ini?
    Do I edit rainmaker.ini?
    Do I edit both?
Do I need to edit some other random ini file?

The manual claim that there should be a default path value for Winamp.
    e.g. PathToWinamp="C:\Program Files\Winamp\Winamp.exe"

Neither of the ini files (I listed) has such an entry.

you don't have to modify any of the ini's - you can download a new one.

here's a very simple winamp skin.

it will download as a compressed rar file, and you will need a program like winrar or 7zip to open it. you will find a bunch of ini files there, along with the graphics it needs. you then need to move this extracted folder into your rainmeter skins folder. each of the ini's are slightly different versions.

then you need to right-click the rainmeter icon in the notification area/system tray, and load up one of the new ini's that you've just downloaded by ticking it in the 'configs'.

it's a lot easier to do than it sounds.

if you want to dabble in a bit of coding, study the code of the new ini's, it's pretty simple really. there are good tutorials online too.

you should then be able to modify an ini to your own requirements.
