The CoreTempGloss Gadget won't work for me. When I add it, it just says "coretemp not running!" How do I fix this?
The gadget only works with the program Core temp 0.099.4 or 0.99.5 beta.
Core Temp is the link for the application. You have to download it and run it for the gadget to read your cpu temp. Every time you restart your computer you'll have to turn it on. In the setting you can tell it to open at start up, but mine doesnt so its on my desktop and i just do it manually :). Also, you can hide it running by going into setting and making it minimize into your "show hide icons" tray. Hope that works for ya

UAC is what stops it from starting and the only way I can get round it is by disabling it, but I am fairly careful with my installations so in my case I don't find UAC necessary.

What is the UAC and how does one go about disabling it?

User Account Control, I'm not exactly sure why it does it but I do know if you turn it off it solves the problem, I have the same problem with Xfire when setting it to start with Windows I get about 2 or 3 UAC prompts.

It is a pain to setup! If you want, you can try my .ini file as a starting point. Just click on the Options "wrench" in the gadget and choose "Import" and browse to wherever you've downloaded my attachment.

Rename the attachment with a ".ini" extension after downloading it...
