    restore windows 7 gadgets

ok so i followed a tutorial a long time ago (not sure which one) on reinstating vista sidebar. my problem now is i want the windows 7 one back.
i have tried renaming my windows sidebar 2 folder back to windows sidebar and also tried sfc /scannow but neither work.
when i looked at the log from sfc it says sidebar.exe source file is also corrupt.

is there any other way apart from windows repair to get back windows 7 gadgets.

You may have to fix the registry. Im would be reluctant to go into that area.
but try this and cross fingers and hope
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Run 3 times if errors are found
If you did this recently a system restore will definately fix it.
A repair install will fix it too if you have the install DVD.
