    windows 7 gadgets?

    hi all,
is there any new or old Gadgets for windows 7 that shows both weather clock and date in one? i mean all in one? instead of having show-date for itself and show weather for itself so i am forced to use 3 gadgets but i could use only one 1 that maybe shows all? if there's any out there? or anyone knows? or so i could create it by myself ?

    thank you,

Rainmeter seems to be one of the most popular: Rainmeter.net and

HTC Home for Windows (in the thread below) seems to be interesting.

What happened to your clock and date in the task bar?

Unless you double the size of your Taskbar, the "time and date" only shows the time, and not the date. (I've never understood why MS designed it that way! It makes no sense to me --- the date is one of the most needed bits of information that people generally refer to every day!) If you want to check the weather also, I think it's a great idea to have the gadget include the time and date as well.

Hmm, strange. I have a default taskbar and it shows both: (btw: it is the same on my 4 Win7 systems)

My apologies, whs. I was thinking of my Vista taskbar which only was high enough to show just the time and not the date. The Windows 7 taskbar is a bit higher.

That is correct. In Vista the taskbar is skinnier.

I took HTC Home 2 off mine at the weekend as it was causing problems.

It continually produced a CSC.EXE error on PC shutdown telling me it had problems starting in the first place (but it seemed to be running OK) and it was refusing to hold it's set position and size at startup.

All was well until I added it to the gadget list for a second user of the PC, then it all went wrong!

Went through the total uninstall and Ccleaner route first (a few times) to no avail.

I reckon it was down to the first version installing into UserName > Appdata but version 2 installing into Program Files.

Even though I trawled the registry and folders (and MsConfig) I could not find any further references to it in either but I still reckon it was trying to start a second instance from AppData, which of course no longer existed.
