    Transparency Gadget For Aero Borders.

Found a cool lil tool to turn transparency in W7 on and off. Don't seem to do much for the task bar tho I'm afraid

I'm sure if you search on TPB you can find it , its called:

"windows 7 Transparency Enabler v4 FINAL"

If anyone cant find it just send me a PM.

Or you could simply do it yourself without a gadget or third party app. :)

is this a process that needs to be running, or does it just flip a switch in the registry? if it's the latter, i think a restart will fix the taskbar. explorer.exe needs to be 'reset' for taskbar changes to take effect.

personally, i don't see the point. aero blur makes things visible, and this, while nice-looking in some respects, just complicates matters...

All it does is add a DWORD value (HideBlur) to the registry, set to 1 for enabled, in either here for Current User accounts:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/DWM

Or for All User accounts here:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/DWM

But Brink's tutorial downloads will let you easily switch from enabled to disabled instead of using somebody else's app to do it. Or course you'd have to log on or off or restart to have it go into effect though.

It only affect window borders. If there is a way to do the same to the taskbar by some registry key, no one's found the way yet.

I was hoping you had the answer to everyones " million dollar" question then . With luck when we get RTM a "themer" will work it out and incorporate it into a visual style.
