    Problem With Windows Sidebar

    I have two Dell 570MT x64 computers running Windows 7 SP1 HP x64

On one computer the Windows Sidebar is working okay

On the other computer it is not working

I located the directory "Windows Sidebar" in C:\program files\

In the computer where the Windows Sidebar is not loading there is only one item located in the Windows Sidebar directory; the folder "Shared Gadgets". None of the other folders and files that are in the Windows Sidebar folder on the computer in which the Sidebar/Gadgets are working are in the Windows Sidebar folder on the computer in which the sidebar/gadgets are working.

    Missing Folders
    ----------------------
    en-US
    Gadgets

    Missing Files
    --------------------
    sbdrop.dll
    settings
    sidebar
    wlsrvc.dll

The UAC on both computers is set to the highest level and I am logged into both computers as Administrator

    I downloaded and ran Reset_Gadgets.bat

It did not fix the problem.

On the computer in which the Windows Sidebar is not working I typed "Sidebar" in the Start menu and it came up blank. In the computer in which Windows Sidebar is working I typed in Sidebar and it returned six entries.

I don't recall if Windows Sidebar ever worked on the computer that it is not working on.

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

    Thanks

    Problem Solved

I just turned the Gadgets feature on. It had been turned off.
