My Gadgets stop working after a while

I installed IE9RC the other day and am begining to think this might be the issue. My gadgets all work fine and then suddenly I will notice the clock has gone black. Checking the other gadgets they have all stopped responding as well.
I did a search and found stuff like it is caused by the UAC but mine is where it should be, an extra entry in the registery zone key but mine has none, references to adobe programs running at start-up but I took them out ages ago.
I tried logging out and back in to get them restarted but they still wont go. Tried removing them and adding them back and nope.
Only thing that works is a complete restart of the system and then they work again until they stop later on. I tried Malwarebytes and got nothing.

The only change is the install of IE9 RC. Anyone else having similar problems?

Nope that doesn't work either. First off it tries to stop the sidebar.exe service using net stop. As it is not a service it does not work. However I did the rest and the gadgets still fail after a while.

I think I am beginning to see a pattern now. After using media player 12 to watch videos the gadgets appear to be crashed. Black clock and the other gadgets frozen. Still can't find why though.

Humm just opened up task manager and sidebar*32.exe is using up heaps of memory and rapidly climbing. Have "end tasked" it and will try to restart it. Now if only I can find what is causing the issue.

I've updated the BAT file in the tutorial to correct this. Please give the new one a try to see if it may be able to help.

No it will still not fix the issue because that is basically what I did and it did not fix the issue. The sidebar.exe task is gobbling up heaps of memory and climbing when it does stop working.
Even now they are still working and the memory usage is climbing. Currently at 2,396,168K and climbing.

Well, I suppose that you could uninstall IE9 to see if they work properly afterwards. If they do, then you might just wait until the 14th of this month when the final IE9 version is released to see how they with it installed instead.

OkAy found the problem. It appears that IE9 RC has someone broken at least one for the gadgets I am running and it is using up memory like there is no tomorrow. The sidebar task had comsumed nearly 7GB at one point.
Going back to IE8 and it is fine. It seems the author of the gadget is aware of the problem and is working to fix it.

Hopefully it may work with the final IE9.
