Gadgets always on top... So sometimes my gadgets go on top and won't go back under until I restart. I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen this. It's on one of my 7229 x64 machines. I'm not going to do anything about it until I install RTM, it's not a big enough issue to move the machine to 7264 and then install RTM next week (hopefully it's released). I'm not sure if it has to do with hibernating, or with full screened games... I dunno, just thought I'd rant about it for a sec... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number fakeasdf (c) OS Win 7 Pro x64 x 3, Win 7 Pro x86, Ubuntu 9.04 CPU 2 x C2D E8600@3.33 Ghz, C2D T8300@2.4 ghz, P4 @ 3.0 ghz, Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3P LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Dynamic Energy S Memory 2x8 GB Corsair, 4GB Kingston, 2GB GSkill Graphics Card ATI Radeon 4670 1 GB DDR3, 2600 Pro, 2400 Pro, Intel 965 Sound Card I don't care... Hmm, interesting. A pretty easy thing you could do without having to reinstall anything is to turn off the gadgets platform in Turn Windows Features On and Off in Program and Features. Restart and let it configure for a bit, then go back and enable it. Might clear the problem, might not. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Airbot 2.0 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Core i7 920 (D0) @ 4Ghz, *26c idle *65c full load on air Motherboard Asus P6X58D Premium - Sata 6Gb/s - USB 3.0 Memory 12GB DDR3 Corsair Dominator -CMD12GX3M6A1600C8 at 1600MHz Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX 480 -Aftermaket Accelero Xtreme Plus cooler Sound Card ASUS Xonar D2X Monitor(s) Displays 1 LG 24" Flatron W2453V-PF 1 Samsung 24" P2450H both 2ms RT Screen Resolution 1920x1080@60hz Keyboard Logitech Wireless MK700 Mouse Logitech Wireless MK700 PSU Corsair HX1000W Case Cooler Master HAF 932 Cooling Case Fans *3 230mm, *1 140mm/CPU - *Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme Hard Drives 1 OCZ Vertex2 180GB SSD

Here is a quicker way to fix:
Right-click on the desktop
Select View
Select Show Desktop Gadgets (they will disappear)
Repeat to make them appear again and the problem should be fixed ! | My System Specs | | |

This is a repeating problem for me. I tend to run many programs at once while I am doing assignments. IE: multiple browser windows (with multiple tabs), torrents, multiple acrobat pro windows with journal articles, itunes, win explorer and outlook. The gadjets seem to eventually migrate to always on top. Thanks for the desktop-> View -> gadgets fix, worked a treat! (for the time being).
P.S. I love Win 7, much faster and easier to navigate many open programs at the same time! | My System Specs | | OS windows 7, vista, ubuntu |
