    gadget transparency error

    Hi all (;

    I'm having some issues with some gadgets, most notably MSN Weather 2.0. Edges of the gadget are not transparent but show purple edges and white lines around iit. Anyone knows why?

    Welcome to Seven Forums sasxa, sorry for the slow reply. Are you using a custom DPI for your screen?

    If so, that is the cause. Some gadgets don't mind, but others will display the issues you are having. See this post:

    Try setting the DPI to original to confirm.

    Yep, that's the case... And gadget works normaly if I set it to one of the default values (100, 125, 150%). Thanks for pointing out what is the problem, I would never guessed I also read posts in links you provided, and as far as I understand it there's still no real solution for this problem? It's not a big deal, but since I'm a designer it's certanly more important to have Windows' PPI match DPI for printing then one gadget I'd like to use, thus I'm using custom scale (;

    Now that I know what the problem is I'll try to check for solution. Since some gadgets work and others don't, my first guess is that PNG graphics in gadget aren't created properly (with scaling in mind), I'll try resaving them in Photoshop...

    Yes, it is certainly something in the way the gadgets are written, as the majority work fine with a custom DPI. A Guy
