    Gadget malfunction & no access to gadgets in windows 7


    Hey all,
    I have a little problem, that you might have read and fixed before.

    My Acer laptop was working fine for about the first week, and now i have no gadgets loading, and no access through the "right click" or the control panel to access the gadgets. I have checked to make sure that sidebar.exe is running and it is, and have checked many message boards, and tried many tools to access my gadget controls.....

    Any help would be great!

    Welcome to Seven Forums Wynterowl. The easiest would be to use a System Restore point from before this problem began.

    System Restore

    If you don't have a SR point, or it doesn't correct this. Next I'd suggest turning the Gadget Platform off, and then back on again.

    Windows Features - Turn On or Off

    Scroll down to Windows Gadget Platform, and untick it. Reboot, then re-tick it and see if that helped.

    If none of the above help, next I would suggest running the System File Checker

My gadgets all work fine, but I notice, when I want to configure one of them, the bottom half of the config window that pops out of the gadget gets cut off. I am attaching screen shot.. Fyi, my resolution is 1680 x 1050 and my dpi is set to medium.. Any help appreciated..
