I have live set up in my outlook as a POP# and as a MAPI - the setting i have for pop3 are:
    pop3.live.com
    smtp.live.com

In Outlook not the client - I can recieve mail but cannot send as of now - told to change outbound to - secure.smtp.msn.com or secure.smtp.live.com - neither work so i am sending work ticket into msn

However for the incoming mail it should work on the gadget since it is working for outlook, unless this client is a piece of ****! I also have tried changing mail client from windows live client to outlook.exe to no avail.
petrossa - i dont know what the problem is - i here that since msn went to HTTP that this is causing the problem.
I'm at a loss - program had potential

UPDATE: i found a new version - HERE and it has large help file
At least basic version of Hotmail does not support POP or IMAP services, so it is not possible to check mails from Hotmail account. If you have purchased version of Hotmail and you know that this should be possible please send mail to wpcorp.support@kujala.name.

the new version i had already. Same issue.

To me MS wants you to use LiveMail as client and messes up anything coming from another client.
Work for a , discovering what the LiveMail's handshake is and adding that to the gadget. I'm pretty sure it'll work then.
