Your likely cause is Kaspersky itself. It has been known to interfere with the Windows 7 sidebar gadgets. Try running a clean start to see if the weather gadget will work correctly. You can then enable until you find the culprit. Suggest enabling everything but Kaspersky as your first test.

You could try creating a new user account and see if the problem occurs in the new account as well. A Guy

You have something corrupted in that user. You can transfer your settings to the new user. You should be able to just copy and paste your files. Make sure your new account is an administrator account if your old one also was.

Open Explorer (any folder) > Click on organize in upper left > Folder and Search Options > Click on view tab > Check Show hidden files and folders if it is not checked > Click OK to save

Now navigate to your C:\Users\(Old User name) folder and copy all the files and folders in the C:\Users\(Old User name) folder to the C:\Users\(New User name) folder.

You can either right click copy, then paste, or use Ctrl+A to highlight, and then Ctrl+C to copy, then Ctrl+V to paste.
