Magic Folder Gadget I just downloaded a gadget called The Magic Folder, but I have no idea how to make it work, and there doesn't seem to be any readme file. Anyone know how to make it work?
Thanks,

I used something similar a few years back, but haven't tried this one. Click on the wrench icon which pops up on the gadget and look for a means to configure it from there.
These are handy if you download lots of stuff. Tell it where to sort things and it can send all your .mov .mp4 .flv, etc to a folder for video. All .mp3 .wav etc could head to a folder for music. Kind of handy if you're like me and view cleaning out your "Downloads" folder to be an all-afternoon task. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self OS Main - Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-Bit; 2nd - Windows Server 2008 R2 CPU Main - Core i7 2600K; 2nd - Core i7 920 Motherboard Main - Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3; 2nd - Gigabyte GA-EX58-UDR3 Memory Main - 16GB Corsair Vengeance; 2nd - 12GB Corsair Vengeance Graphics Card Main - XFX Radeon 6870 1GB; 2nd - XFX Radeon 4870 1GB Sound Card Both: Onboard Realtek Azalia Monitor(s) Displays Main - Hann 25" + I-INC 25" + Acer 23"; 2nd - Upgrading Soon Screen Resolution Main - 1920x1080 (All Three Monitors); 2nd - Upgrading Soon Keyboard Main - Razer Reclusa; 2nd - Old MS Keyboard Mouse Main - Logitech MX Revolution; 2nd - Old MS Mouse PSU Main - OCZ 600W Modular; 2nd - OCZ 600W Case Main - Thermaltake Element G; 2nd - NZXT something or other Cooling Main - Corsair H80; 2nd - Prolimatech Megahalems Hard Drives Main - (1) Crucial M4 128GB (Boot)

Where did you download it from?
I think it is a program that one can use to hide files so that others can not see or access your files. Not needed in Windows 7 or any NTFS system as NTFS allows a person to encrypt a folder which is what Magic Folder is doing, that is if it is the same program that I am thinking about. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home build OS Windows 7 Pro x64 CPU AMD FX 4100 4 Core 3.6GHz AM3+ Motherboard ASROCK 970 Extreme3 Memory 16GB G.Skill RipjawsX Graphics Card Radeon 6850 Sound Card ASUS Xonar D1 Monitor(s) Displays ASUS 23" LCD PSU 700W Case Antec 100 Cooling Hyper 212 Plus Hard Drives SSD 120GB

Ha, just installed this the other day funny enough. Click on the wrench, then go to "extensions". Most of the common extenions will already be set for you (jpg go to Pictures, avi-> movies etc etc). If you have other extensions that arent in the list that pops up, then you can click the + button to add it, then choose which folder they will go to then click SAVE.
Thats all. Cleaned up a ton of crap last night, i now have an empty desktop lol.
Hope this helps.
ps - for others that want this, right click on desktop > gadgets > search for "Magic"...thats how I got it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number SDMF OS Windows7 Ultimate x64 CPU Core i5 750 Motherboard Gigabyte P55A-UD3P Memory Corsair XMS3 1600 4GB Graphics Card Sapphire Radeon HD4850 Sound Card Good Ol Sound Blaster Audigy2 Platinum EX Monitor(s) Displays Acer 23" PSU Corsair 450W Case Antec Three Hundred Cooling Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus, and 2 extra 120mm front case Hard Drives WD Caviar Black 640GB and WD 1.5TB external |

I've downloaded it, and unzipped it, but it's not showing up on my desktop at all, I don't even see it to click on the wrench. @MGP - it's not the gadget that hides files, it's the one that allows you to choose folders for saving based on extensions. | My System Specs

I've also downloaded a couple others, and they seem to open okay, but they don't show up on the desktop. I'm confused as to where or what folder the gadgets are supposed to be in. | My System Specs
