Annoying Gadgets problem

Hey guys!
So I installed Windows 7 today, drivers, programs, etc.
And I also put some gadgets on the desktop. After some restarts (because of updates), I saw that my weather gadget won't start for some reason, and I had to put it again and again every time I reboot my computer. But there was another problem.
When I'm placing it on the desktop, I can see the same gadget twice. One where I wanted to put it, and another one very close to it. But the annoying thing is that I can drag and close one gadget, but the other one won't respond to nothing, and it always stays on top of every window.

Does anyone know what's wrong with it? My brother installed Windows 7 today too, and it works perfectly for him...

THX in advance

Hello AlexAfo, welcome to Seven Forums. We can try something easy to start. First I would try turning off the Windows Gadget Platform, then turn it back on.

Windows Features - Turn On or Off

Scroll down to Windows Gadget Platform and untick it. Reboot, and go back and re-enable it.

If no help, I would run the System File Checker next.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Let us know if either corrects it. If not, we can delve deeper. A Guy
