Windows 7: Custom Gadget - Show ComputerName/IP

Hi all,
Thanks for reading and hope someone can help.

I work in a school and decided that making a custom gadget might help by showing Computer name and possibly IP address to help when they submit issues or require remote assistance.

I have made a basic gadget, and i know some standard HTML but seems i need to use something like javascript to extract computer name then display it but im honestly no good at java script and especially the formatting of it to get it to work in a Gadget .

Would anyone know how i can do this please.
