    gadget problem

gadget verson 2.5 (downloaded today) firefox 3.0.1 no new rev avail. My thoughts are that it worked fine w/ firefox till I had a hard crash. At that point sidebar stopped launching at startup and SF gadget got strange. I will try w IE instead but I wonder if there is any data in the dnsenseerror.html file that SF gadget spawns, or if there are config setting or ini files somewhere I cant find with search. Thanks for your help I will keep working on it. I have to do a clean install anyway I guess its sooner rather than later.

Just noticed that the gadget is eating up mega cpu cycles since Limneos did his latest updates. I use System Explorer and it shows sidebar.exe using 10-15% cpu before I start the 7gadget. When 7gadget is running, it shows sidebar.exe using 60-80% cpu. I use Firefox as my default browser and noticed since the updates it has become very slow to launch the link when you click in the gadget. I switched default to IE8 and it also was very slow. Using System Exporer, I've set sidebar to only get idle priority and now the links open up quickly again but sidebar.exe still is eating up 60 - 80 % cpu. Anyone have any ideas. I'll PM Limneos as well. He's done such a great job on fixing this gadget that I hate to find a problem with it!

Im using 2.5 on 32 bit 7100 and its running 6 % cpu and abt 10 % mem. Is it possible the problem is related to 64 bit?

I don't think so. I'm running 32 bit 7137. I chatted with McBlazr this morning and he was seeing the same thing on his 64 bit Super Cray Mega Machine! I hope its an easy fix for Limneos!

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with this gadget.

The only time it updates (refreshes) is when I sleep/wake it. Which is the only way I can use the chat feature as well (I send a message and sleep/wake to see if I have a new message).

I have no clue whats causing it and if anyone can help, that'd be great.

I am using IE8 by the way.

    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

    Hey Limneos
I was chatting with another user and he linked me a website but i realized i couldnt highlight and copy it. Maybe on the next update put an ability to highlight text from chat and insery hyperlinks, and so on?

Great work on the gadget. It's A+ work.

Unless I'm looking in the wrong place most Win7/Vista gadgets are crap. (I use Yahoo widgets which are excellent) - but this Gadget is an out and out exception. Beautifully executed, useful and good looking.
    Many thanks.
