Well i got most of it working after several hundred tries, but now I get this (note I didn't edit the gadget).

I get this with all dimensions by the way, well all that my monitor can hold.

I had a good idea for the gadget, based off of M$ Outlook and GMail notifier.

Could we get little taskbar pop ups? Like with M$ OutLook, when you get an e-mail the little bar pops up, or like with steam (that is what just gave me the idea). Perhaps a little pop up when someone replies to a thread we are subscribed to, or when we get a PM or chat message.....

Think about it. I would love it! I am never just sitting on my desktop, so that would really help me out.

Anyone got a starting point on gadget making? I would like to experiment with skinning and sizing a couple of gadgets

    TIA

Have you changed the DPI of Windows7 ?

When I was using the gadget, was having the same problem until reseting the dpi back to the default 100%.

It was at 100%, i changed it to 125% then logged out, then changed it back to 100% and logged out, still no difference.

I didn't mean trying to change it back and forth, ...sorry bout that. If you had it at its default, then it has nothing to do with the dpi.

I just meant that I had the dpi always set at 125% and the gadget looked like yours did. When I changed the dpi back to its default 100% it was fine.

    Have you tried:

Above is a post within this thread about editing the file sevenforums.html and fix the overlay.

Oh, well sometimes things are screwy like that and just changing it to something else, and back to what it was can fix it. Was worth a shot :P

I'll take a look at that post.

EDIT: Problem with that post, it was made back when the gadget was first out, a lot of things changed within the gadget between then and now. Like there is no Sevenforum.html file! lol =P

R U sure? I have one, its an .html that you have to open with notepad.

Goto start menu, type " shell:gadgets " in the search (w/o quotes)

Open the folder that appears, then open the sevenforums.Gadget folder.

If your default browser is IE, you should see a IE sevenforums.html file.

Right click and choose open with... browse to the system32 folder to find notepad and click on it to open the html in notepad. Then follow the instructions to adjust the height/width.

Unless the gadget I downloaded just the other day was old. I used the zip file in one of limneos's posts. 2.5 final.

There does appear to be a different version when on the first page of this thread in the first post and you click the blue download button. I'm not sure which is the newest, that one or the 2.5 final zip in another of his posts.

    Post with zip:

https://www.sevenforums.com/customiza...html#post51963 (you can also get to this post, when you click in limneos's sig for the 2.5 final.)

I did check both versions tho, and the sevenforums.html does appear to be in both. ...dunno
