indeed folks; I confirmed it myself by uninstalling ie 11 and sure enough; the gadgets came back exactly the way I wanted them to come back; full color and all!; so yes it appears it indeed is a problem with ie 11 because I think the reason is ie 11 is really meant for windows 8 and 8.1; even though it is compatible with windows 7; dont know where the problem lies; but indeed that did solve my problem so thanks everyone who contributed to this! :)

So this bug with DPI >100% and Win7 Gadgets when you install IE11 is still unfixed? Is MS sleeping?
Not only this, but also IE11/Accelerator blue arrow gadget won't work correctly if DPI >100%...

A lot of users won't install IE11 for these reasons.

Microsoft has discontinued Gadgets. Therefore, there will be no future support.

I'm really surprised by this to be honest, Certain gadgets could be a bit problematic but there are some really good ones out there! Shame really

They "say" gadgets are a security risk. True or not, they don't want to support them. Whether the design of IE11 specifically corrupts them, or it is a side effect. They don't see this as a problem to fix, so don't expect one.

... and that's the problem. Shame on Microsoft
IE11 not only breaks gadgets with DPI 125%, but also the Browser Accelerators blue arrow gets misplaced and hard to click on... what a bad Windows 7 port. Something in IE11 is seriously broken about screen resolution/DPI aspect on Windows 7. I'm surprised they have not fixed these bugs yet, maybe Google is paying them too for Chrome...

    Thanks From Me Too Jerry!

Just bought a new ASUS Eee, very small, PC with Windows 7, IE11. Some gadgets don't work, but not having a clock?! No, please! Got one now. So happy and relieved. Great job, great forum. Thanks again.

What now works best is to install version 12 or higher of 8GadgetPack - Gadgets for Windows 8 / 8.1
