I experienced some of these issues when I loaded a Beta copy of IE11 a couple of weeks ago. I decided to wait until it was officially launched. I think I will go back to IE10 for a few weeks until they have got these bugs sorted. I am not in a position to be testing software really. 10 was doing fine.

That's how I feel really. I've saved a copy of my gadgets though for future use :)

I changed DPI back to 100% on two PC's here and weather gadget corrected.

Then I upped DPI to 110 and 115 successively with no change after re-Log In's.

But to be sure I downloaded and installed Jerry's gadget mod and all is well.

    Thanks, all. Nice work, Jer.

Edit: Two icons on one roommate's desktop that had also gone skeletor were corrected by applying 100% DPI, re-Login, then upping it to 110%

I don't use many gadgets Calendar and Sticky notes is about it everything else is on my Homepage but I certainly sympathize with others who do and have to alter dpi to adapt to ie11,
I've found that I had to switch back to GPU rendering for a couple if mouse irritants but being ie11 was a win-8 browser with touch screen stuff I pretty much expected some mouse issues but GPU rendering oddly solved those irritants,
I only had to decrease dpi to default 125% because of some irregularities in opening new tabs/ Zoom was increased when doing this somewhat simple task ?
I use 150% zoom but it was increasing even more with dpi at 130% I believe I was set on prior,
Anyway it doesn't happen very often not it's been narrowed down to just this site and Nine forum,
So with this site still using a default document page of ie7 standards would most likely bare that issue which was always the case in ie10 so F12 switching document modes to ie10 standards cure any irregularities here and this is still the case in ie11.
NineForum is a bit different but switching to ie10 doc. mode cures that as well,
    Cheers.

Owe if anyone missed this article Brink posted it might shed some light on many issue/ New features which are clashing,

I'm not a regular user of Youtube but occasionally I will check something out; consequently, I was not unduly upset when it persisted in freezing on the home page. I consider security is more important: having read the article Brink posted (thank-you Thrashzone for drawing it to my attention) regarding IE11's increased safety, I think I prefer that to Youtube, so I'll withdraw my previous declaration of intention and stay with 11.

Here's a thing: I'm finding that the gadgets are not appearing on about every other log-on and I can't even launch the gadget homepage either. Do a restart and they return. Strangely enough my sticky notes gadget works perfectly and always has done.

For this I would roll back to IE10 and use Firefox - which I do anyway so I'm not going to waste any more time with IE which doesn't care about this feature popular with millions any more than MS cares about the desktop preferred by a billion customers. These are things they want to go away. Pitch into wind.
