    Gadgets won't restore

Suddenly our desktop gadgets have disappeared, we're running 32 bit Home Premium.

If I right click on Desktop gadgets there is no response, and If I try to open the Desktop gadget gallery there again is no sign of action. Everything else appears to be OK.

    Any ideas please?

Did you by chance download and install internet explorer 11? If so, uninstall it and hopefully it will roll back to 10. The problem with ie 11 is that it is really designed for windows 8; and so for whatever reason it does not like 7 at all. Also, there is a file called reset.bat which i will post a link for here. Download and click that and then reboot the system and hopefully if all goes well the gadgets will reappear again. Here is the link to reset.bat:

Check your DPI Display Size Settings - Change and see if it changed to 125% if so change it to 100% also read this thread https://www.sevenforums.com/gadgets/3...ernatives.html there is a fix if you have IE 11.

    Thanks for the advice guys.

Bongo, it was already at 100%.

I do have IE11 on the machine in question, and this seemed to be the problem. Initially, I just turned off the IE11 windows feature, and intend rolling back to IE10 (- not that I use IE though, it's just there as a spare), and this cured the problem.

    Thanks once again.
