    Windows 7 Gadgets

I decided to start using the Weather Gadget on my desktop. After fooling with different things and I accidently deleted the Weather file. They have been discontinued so I can't download another. I do have a laptop that I was going to get the file from, but I can't find it. Anyone know which file I need to transfer for the weather?

    Try
    C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets
    or
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets

    What did you delete?

    Hi,

I guess that it depends upon knowing what file you deleted. Otherwise you could just try replacing the whole folder here:

    "C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\Weather.Gadget"

I keep those gadgets disabled on my machine but did once have a need to edit a gadget's .xml file and remember that it couldn't be edited without disabling gadgets so that the files were not in use. Also a permissions change was required.

If you get stuck you can use WinMerge to compare two folders for differnces.

WinMerge | Free Security & Utilities software downloads at SourceForge.net

Edit: Bongo is correct - there's two locations but folder conents and files appear to be identical in each location so if one still exists try copying it across.

Thanks Jerry for the tutorial. I would have never guessed one was there for such a small problem.
