    Stocks Gadget


    There was a Desktop Gadget in Vista that could show UK stock market prices, or even individual share prices, but I cannot find it in the Windows 7 Gadgets, anyone know if it is available?

    I think it was there in the release candidate, but I don't see it in the retail version either.

    I would guess it was deliberately removed because of flaws or because the developer balked--I think some of the gadgets are developed by outside sources, not by Microsoft directly.

    They removed the Stocks gadget from Windows 7. I prefer to use Yahoo! Widget engine ( Overview - Yahoo! Widgets ) instead of using the built-in Windows one. They have some very nice Widgets (gadgets). While I don't personally use the Stocks Widget, here is a pic of the one included in Yahoo! Widgets.

I really couldn't care less about MS dumping gadgets since 99% of them were useless, but this is one of the few gadgets that were actually useful. It seems to be impossible to find, which is strange because it's made by MS and it's a really useful gadget. I do have one installed on another...

Stocks Gadget for x64

I just installed Windows 7 on my dad's laptop and found out that Windows 7 no longer has the stocks gadget. However, my dad heavily invests in the stock market, so I was wondering if anyone has made a Windows 7 version of the stocks gadget. If so, can someone please provide a link to it?
My Dad wants his stocks gadget from Vista on Win7 but it seems to be missing - in fact the extended gadget library is no longer available due to some gibberish about the future which someone apparently assumes is Win8. I have found the file in Vista Programs Files and Appdata and copied it to...
Stocks Gadget x64
in Customization

It seems that my stocks gadget is not available on x64 builds. I actually use the stocks gadget (and it was included on 7100x86, 7127x86, 7137x86). However, it does not seem to exist on 7201x64 or 7229x64. It was previously on vista x64. Anyone know where it is hiding? Thanks Mark
