    Thumbnails association problem

Another problem that has not been fixed from vista. I need to associate my jpg pictures with corel photopaint but they will not show up as thumnails in explorer unless I associate them with picture viewer or photo gallery. Is this microsoft trying to take control of your files or is there a fix? I need to see them but I need them to automatically open in my image editor.

Have you tried manually setting the "Open with" to Corel Photopaint?

If I do that then I just see the photopaint icon and not the thumbnails. It seems microsoft will only allow thumbnails with their own programs. Its important I see the images and then to double click them to open the program that created them but I can't do that anymore. It works fine in XP but vista and Win 7 has changed.
