My gadgets have disappeared from my desktop and despite investigation into gallery & downloading new gadgets I do not have any success. Advice please

open task manager by rigth clicking task bar. go to process tab. see if the process sidebar.exe is running. if not type sidebar in search. if it is we need to do some more digging.
My desktop gadgets disappeared on startup a few weeks ago, I was able to get them back by turning off the gadgets 'Windows features' and then back on again.
But every few days they disappear and I have to go through the 'Windows features' process again.
Any ideas?
