    Gadget Help

I have a crazy problem with my gadgets. I can't seem to get them any closer. A few days ago they were fine, I could put them anywhere. I upgraded from build 7022 to 7057 yesterday, and now I went to rearrange my gadgets and they just wont move where I want them.

Here is a video of how they are acting.

If I have only one on the desktop it will move smoothly anywhere, put two together they start acting like magnets.

    Hi SammyTRK and welcome,

Yeah, I have the same annoyance. The other builds would let you get the gadgets pretty much as close to each other as you wanted, at least for me. In 7057, they fall into locked positions and you can't get them that close like before, again, at least for me. Some are also hard for me to move around at first, like it takes a few clicks on them to start them dragging. I guess it's just something they tweaked with the gadgets in this build, possibly to work out some problem with them, I'm not sure. I haven't found a way to unlock the way they sit into certain positions but hopefully, they make more changes as the builds go along to make them more manageable.

    Thanks Airbot,
Can anyone else confirm this as a build 7057 "bug"(annoyance at the least).
    I am glad I have a disk image of b4 I upgraded:)

Yeah, you're welcome. I don't think I would call it a bug per se, more of an annoyance as you say. I know build 7048 worked better for me in regards to the gadgets. What are you gunna do though really. Unless someone finds a way to unlock the gadget wells they sit in.

Definitely a bug in build 7057, I have also had problems with black bars appearing underneath the problem gadgets, with happens to be the same size as the gap that it will put between the gadgets, it is as you say very annoying.

I just hope that the next build will have all these bugs ironed out and I hope they return the send feedback feature and keep it there until service pack 1, Microsoft needs to keep listening to what people want if they want to improve there products.

Haven't had any black bars appearing. I don't even know why they took the feedback link completely away this early on either. I'm kinda thinking, if it even makes sense, that this build was a sort of test (test build) which was screwed around with just to add/modify some things to see how they'd turn out. If there is such a thing. Does that make any sense or do I sound crazy?

Yes I agree that this build feels very half baked compared to earlier builds, it's like they suddenly had a heap of new ideas and threw them all in at once to see what would happen.

Nope, you're not crazy... I have the same thinking, see most all my posts today.... 57 is not stable in many respects... i mean look at how many "builds" have popped up in the last 30 days. Atleast XP was limited to around 1 every 2-3 weeks there abouts. Many more groups of developers working on this than in previous OS betas like XP I think, reason for the many different test builds in my opinion. Possibly passing it down the chain for the next group's collaboration effort.
