    My gadgets won't open

Hi, I just upgraded my PC from XP to Windows 7 yesterday. My gadgets were working fine yesterday, but now they don't work. When I right click on the desktop and and click Gadgets the window doesn't pop up. Also, when I go through control panel, it doesn't pop up. I've tried all the following:

-Disabling UAC and turning UAC back on.
    -Restarting my computer, multiple times.
-Running a system scan and seeing if any hardware is corrupted/gone. It was all in check.
-Trying to restore gadgets in my control panel
-In my "Turn Windows Software On/Off" my gadgets are on.
-Making sure my "Show Desktop Items" and "Show Gadgets on Desktop" is checked.

There are probably a few more things I'm forgetting, but everything I've tried has failed. Please, help.

    Hi tearsofpurple! Welcome to SevenForums:)

Have a look at this tutorial, in particular the 2nd option:

    Gadgets - Enable or Disable

    Hope this helps.

Neither step worked. Step 1 didn't. And Step 2 I don't have the right version on Windows 7 that has that file I need to open.

Can you do a system restore to a time prior to when the problem started :

    System Restore[2]=Backup%20Restore

I think I would try using sfc/scannow then hit enter, typed into an elevated command prompt "run as admin".

That will usually fix these types of problems.

System Restore enables you to restore your computer to an earlier state without losing data.

    Your files will be fine:)

Idk if I really want to, I highly doubt it would work, as I've read multiple people with my problem for them not working. I'm fine without gadgets, just though I'd post and see if there was something else I'm missing.
