Battlefield 2142 on Windows 7 RC

Punkbuster kicks for "Unknown Windows Api Function 131152". Battlefield 2 works just fine for me and it seems that both of these games are listed on the working games list in that sticky thread so is there anyway to get BF2142 working? Or do I just have to install XP again even though I really wouldn't like to do so.

I'm using 64bit version of Windows 7 RC, Build 7100. I have updated PB with PBSetup. If you need any more details just ask.

I've been messing with BF2142 for about a week now. You will find that some servers will not kick you when others do over punkbuster. Im betting there needs to be another update to punkbuster for it to work on all server but that wont happen until Windows 7 comes full version. You can check the punkbuster thread to try some of the other items out there to see if that works.

Oh. In any case sometimes it kicks me instantly and sometimes I might be able to play 25 minutes even. I tried to install XP today to another partition but apparently I have used all my activations (didn't even know there was a limit) so guess I'll just wait for them to update pb.

You can call the help line to get XP to run again you just have to prove its a Legal copy.
I know this as a fact as working for a repair shop I've seen many people use up their activations, but as long as you have the little freaking sticker with they key then you should be good. I'm hoping pb has an update in the next few weeks myself.

BOTH Punkbuster AND Gameguard Loathe Windows 7 atm
They don't Recognize it and Support it, well GG does finally according to what the Spellborn Forums said but it's the GAMES themselves that HAVE to implement their fix in a patch for the game USING Gameguard to work

As for Punkbuster...well...maybe someday soon they'll go Windows 7.

Yes we are hoping that they fix punkbuster soon I just loaded CoD:WAW and it works fine with it so they know what it is and hopefully we will see a patch soon. From what I've been seeing is that only 25% of the servers I've tested on BF2142 work fine with punkbuster the others kick you guess you just have to find that one server that you like for now and I know how are that is to due.

Hmm I haven't really found a server which ultimately wouldn't kick me. Sometimes it's instantanious and sometimes it lets me play half an hour.

Trust me on this one it's very time consuming to find a server that doesn't kick you. I have two marked right now but the pings on them change so much it makes them hard to play on. Let's keep working on it and hoping for a patch or update soon.
