Sound problems in a bunch of games
Hey all, I was wondering if you lot can help me with my seriously wierd problem.
I'm currently running the 7100 build of windows 7, when I installed it I put it onto a main windows partition but had all of my vista data installed on another partition, this means that I could keep all my games installed and not have to reinstall everything again. (In short. c:/ is for win7 and nothing else e:/ is for games and utils etc)
The installation went fine and I was quite happily running all my games without and problems, that was until my old geForce 8600 GTS crapped out on me I've replaced the card with a new Radeon 4770 HD which runs everything brilliant! But I have a problem...
The sound on my games now seems to be running out of sync with the rest of the game, usually this takes the form of lines of dialogue being cut off before it has finished being spoken, the audio doesn't appear to be played any faster and the games don't seem to be running in fast forward or anything. The problems happen in Crysis, Call of Duty (4 and WaW) Far Cry 2, BioShock and Tomb Raider: Underworld. In Assasins Creed dialogue lines run over each other making things souns a jumbled mess, which is also really annoying!
I'm using the on board sound from my Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R (GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Overview - GA-EP45-DS3R (rev. 1.0)I think its a realtek chipset but I've being unable to find any widows 7 drivers, the one I'm using was downloaded from the windows update server. I've tried fresh installs of Far Cry 2 and Crysis to no avail, downloaded video, DVD's and MP3's work fine, the problem seems to only occur in games
Anyone got any suggestions as to what it could be? I'm not sure if its a graphics card problem or a sound card thing, I've tried reinstalling drivers for both but without sucess.
Thanks for your time :)
