    low FPS?

hi i am just asking :are these FPS usual with this card (i know i have the worst card in the world so just tell me what i am asking )
in splinter cell conviction low =15FPS medium = 9FPS high = 7 FPS
in battlefield bad company 2 medium = 20/30
i think the bad company FPS is good for this card (radeon HD 4550 )
but the SCC ones are low right?

I wouldn't expect any better than that, it's a budget card. It's short on shaders, and extremely short on memory throughput.

If you enjoy gaming, you should consider an upgrade. Post back if you'd like some tips.

You are wasting your CPU power with that GPU and RAM. Grab another 2 gigs and get a solid card and you will see a HUGE performance increase.

im tryin to persuade my dad 4 the upgrade lol but the pc passes the min requirements of the game (SCC) that means it must at least it must work on low res but with the really low FPS it freezez for 10 sec every 7/10 mins
and my friend has a really lower pc that works on high without any problem so i think its a software problem
    right??

I am not entirely sure I understood that.
Care to retype that with some punctuation and grammar?

I am trying to persuade my dad to upgrade (lol) but meanwhile .......... the PC passes the minimum requirements of the game (Splinter Cell Conviction) ..that means it must at least work on low graphics but with the really low FPS it also freezes for 10 seconds every 7/10 minutes on low graphics !!!
and my friend has a weaker PC that works on high graphics without any problem so i think its a software problem
    right??

"did i really write what was up there?? i couldn't even understand it
    sorry

    Much better!

Minimum requirements, or recommended requirements? One is to barely play the game on low settings, the other can run it on low settings...

You may try reinstalling graphics drives. Check in BIOS to make sure your card is regocnized.

Yes you did and neither could we

Keep in mind in that SCC is badly optimised and 'minimum requirements' are really nothing more than a guarantee that you can start the game.

Playing it is another thing entirely.

When you say your friends PC is 'weaker' - weaker in what way? Slower CPU and GPU, or does he have a slower CPU but a better GPU etc?

    Anyway,

If it's software, how many process do you have running in the background?

    Any A/V with resident scanners?

The pause every 10 mins or so could be the pagefile swapping memory in and out causing the HDD to 'bog down' while it does that.

one with core 2 due and he bought the graphics card 2 years ago he doesn't know the brand (lol) but its slower
another friend with dual core and gt220 .......... not that high
also i found that i pass the recommended requirements
second i don't have anything running in background (i even close the antivirus and everything else)
i don't understand what you said after that
also i want to add that the game sometimes stays up to 15 minutes without freezing and sometimes freeze every 1 minute

    thanks
