The Xeons are aimed at the server/workstation market.

They are fundamentally the same as their desktop counterparts but have a few extra instruction sets/features that desktop versions do not. These extra features aren't utilised for gaming.

The PC in the link uses Xeons because of the dual socket SR2 board, which needs the Xeons (because of the extra features) to be able to 'work together' - something that two i7 based chips cannot do.

For gaming, it makes no difference.

yeah they put the Zeons in there so they could charge more ha ha it looks better on paper , all those cores!! (all but 4 of them are pointless)

Speed wise probably similar. Big advantage as said above is that dual processor Xeon motherboards exist so that you can run 2 or 4 CPU's on the board and get more processing power.
