What is the STRANGEST game you've ever played?

    Hi everyone.

Okay, many times before I've seen users ask the question, "What is your favorite game of all time?" but I'm here to ask, what is the strangest or weirdest computer game you've ever played?

For me it has to be this one I played a long time ago on my Apple //e. No fancy graphics; just a simple text-based interface. It was called "Nightmare #7," or something like that. And the object of the game was to figure out ... the object of the game. Seriously. You were presented with a prompt in which you could enter anything you wanted. Then your score would fluctuate based on what you entered. But you didn't know how what you were typing was affecting your score! To be honest, even to this day, I still don't know what the goal of that game was. I suppose I could have looked at the BASIC source code, but would that be considered cheating?

    Anyone else? :)

I seem to remember creating and playing games with a DOS version of dBase.

Whilst I didn't play this game myself (seen my friend play it), nor was it on PC. For me the wierdest game I've seen is Bayonetta. Filled with terrible J-pop music, rediculous sex puns. And over the top sexual animation. It just doesn't sit well with me... I don't get this sort of game. I'm all for hot women in my movies and such, but an animated woman jumping around, moaning and her clothes coming off? I'm out thanks. The image I get in my head is that of the Warcraft guy from South Park playing it.

That said, each to their own. I'm sure plenty of people wouldn't like the games I play with blood, guts, murder, car theft and so on...

Probably would run real smooth on a Core i7 with a pair of SLI GTX 480s.

I hear ya. Yes, I've seen a couple of old games in my day with similar themes ... one was a space invaders game in which the primary objects (such as the spaceship, the aliens, etc.) were substituted with ... well ... things of a more "kinky" nature.

For me, I would say the later levels of Thief Gold, particularly the "Escape", "Strange Bedfellows" and "The Maw" levels were not only the weirdest but the creepiest levels I've ever played in any game to date.

I just looked at some screenshots, and it does look unusual. Amazing when you talk to people how you find out about all these games you never heard of! :)

Commando Libya on C64 ..! That was some disturbing stuff. Besides that, FRAK for the same box was way out there. Stag on Amiga. For PC, nothing comes close to Postal.
