Windows 7 game compatibility issue

Alright, I got an issue. I want to play Age of Empires II: Age of Kings. I'm running Windows 7 64bit. Only thing is, when I put it in to install it, it says "Windows cannot access this disc......This disc might be corrupt, make sure that the disc uses a format that Windows recognizes.

Only thing is I know that the disc works fine because my dad installed it on his computer that uses windows vista. It is also on the supported game list for Windows 7 64bit...so what am I missing here?

Thanks in advance.

This is a stretch, but you can try these two things:

a) copy the files over to a folder on the desktop and try to install

(this may work better)
b) copy the game cd to an iso image on your hard drive, then mount it using daemon tools

it could be the problem with your dvd drive aswell. What you could do instead is transfer already installed game from your dads computer onto yours. last time i checked this game is pretty small and it doesnt require installation in order to work. as an alternative you could simply download the game (its legal since you actually bought it).

yeah just copy the files over its like 530 mbs and as long as you have the disk in the drive so you can run the game no install needed
