Any good Chess games for 7 Starter or Home Basic ?

A friend of mine has Windows 7 Starter and was looking through my system (Ultimate). He loved Chess Titans, but there is no way to use it in Starter (No Aero, Chess Titans will not work without Aero).

Are there any good Chess games with comparable looks and brains (preferably free ) ?

Tournament Chess 2, Grandmaster Chess Tournament, Chessbase Mega Database 2010, heck even Lego Chess is fun if you amplify the difficulty (the Mega Database, btw, has fine-tuning in re: difficulty and skill levels!,) War Chess (not a favorite of mine, but some like the looks and feel... I go for the classic 3D look versus the sounds and GUI,) and that's about it.

In case you can't tell, I'm a bit of an enthusiast.

Some of teh Hoyle suites (Puzzle & Board Games) have what you're after.

If you want apps/warez, I have many.

I'd also recommend Reflexive Arcade's Risk II (I know you didn't mention it, but I have an inkling you'd like it as an adjunct,) as well as online Stratego/Backgammon.

PS - Nice Godfather quote. "Never show anyone outside the family what you're thinking again." (Vito to Santino)

I'm assuming you meant compatible games... lol... for both 32 & 64. I run both & these all work famously.
